The jumpstart of being a BulSUan has just kicked in.
1st year students from 13 colleges of Bulacan State University (BulSU) main campus and its four external campuses participated in the 6th Annual Freshmen Orientation organized by the Student Government (SG) in cooperation with the Office of the Student Affairs and Services (OSAS), July 2-5.
Discussed during the program were the introductory information about each college such as their mission, vision and goal, the rules and regulations from the student handbook, the functions of the different offices in BulSU, and the key officials of the university.
“Personally, may nakuha ako [na learning]. Lalo na ‘yong introduction nila about students who use CIT as pathway to enter BSU. Kung baga, mga napilitan lang sa CIT tapos mag-shift din. Kaya ang bungad ni Ma’am Dolly, bawal mag-shift under first semester,” said Kim Neil Gatmaitan, a freshman from College of Industrial Technology.
In spite of a week delay of the event, which was usually held on the month of June, due to the schedule of the directors, students confirmed that they catch a set of cue from the 4-day event.
“The reason why we delayed it for a week is because of the enrolment. Kasi may nag-eenroll pa ng June. We see to it na lahat ng first year, na-cater na and na-accommodate na during the orientation proper,” explained SG president Jackie Gan.
Meanwhile, Dean of Student Affairs and Services Nicanor dela Rama issued a statement right after the freshmen orientation, “As a whole, the freshmen orientation is a successful one, annually maayos naman nating nairaraos ‘to and hopefully may nakuha naman ang mga bata throughout the event.”
