Bulacan State University (BulSU) Student Government (SG) promoted environmental consciousness in the campus through conducting various projects such as clean-up drive and eco-symposium, July 16-19.
BulSU SG launched Linis Linis Din ‘Pag May Time, a three-hour university wide clean-up drive wherein each college cleaned up their respective areas throughout the premises of BulSU.
Organizations, institutions, and groups like Pambansang.com, Asia Pacific Ambassadors for Water (APAW), National Service Reserved Corps (NSRC), Youth Empowerment and Advancement of Bulacan–Bulacan State University (YEABulacan-BulSU), and BulSU-EcoRangers teamed-up for the clean-up drive.
Linis Linis Din ‘Pag May Time was a legacy project of the SG’s Secretariat Committee headed by Sen. Madlangsakay.
Meanwhile, the clean-up drive received positive response from the BulSUans.
SG also conducted on July 16 the 1st EKO-SAYSAYAN, a seminar that discussed the 'before and after' of BulSU’s ecology as well as the role of youth towards the climate change and its effects in BulSU. Freshmen and sophomore students taking up environmental science subject attended the activity.
Furthermore, SG, through the help of APAW and NSRC, formed the Bulacan State University-Young Partners for Environmental Protection (YPEP) which aspires to empower students and make them responsible in environmental activities.
Ito ‘yong leadership in a green way,” explained YPEP co-founder Alexander Villaluz.
