The university’s highest student executive got new national position.
Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) Federation of Student Regents and Trustees (FSRT) elected Student Government (SG) President Jackie Gan as the new National Political Action Officer (NPAO) in its leadership seminar-workshop held at Crown Regency Hotel, Mactan City, Cebu, July 2-4.
Student regents from 107 state universities and colleges (SUCs) across the Philippines chose Gan for the NPAO, which equaled the position of PASUC-FSRT vice-president.
Aside from Gan, a student regent from University of the Philippines-Mindanao, a Political Science major also vied for the slot of NPAO but by the virtue of 50 votes over 30, the SG President got the position.
However, some doubt if Gan can still comply fully with her role as the SG president with her new responsibilities outside the campus.
On the other hand, Gan answered the allegation that was being thrown at her after months of stay in the post.
The PASUC training-seminar was an annual congress of all members of SUCs Board of Regents (BOR) all over the country.
Other delegates of Bulacan State University in the said event were President Mariano De Jesus, Vice President for Academic Affairs Antonio Del Rosario, Vice President for External Affairs Cecilia Geronimo, BOR Secretary Al Santos, Non-Academic Personnel Association President Gilbert Benedictos, Sarmiento Campus Administrator Pedro Abanador and Former Faculty Union President Hermogena Bautista.
