Students should tighten up their pockets more as Bulacan State University (BulSU) administration signaled the implementation of the Php35 standard price of food in the canteen beside College of Nursing last June 13.
Based on the survey conducted by Pacesetter, 60.5 percent out of 200 students patronizing the food stalls in the said canteen disapproved the newly implemented rule.
Director for Auxiliary Service Felicitas Mirabuenos spearheaded the agreement between BulSU Administration and the food stall owners inside the nursing canteen. They posted tarpaulins with printed information of the regular cost of food as follows: Php35 for meat and rice, Php30 for vegetable and rice, Php45 for two dishes of meat with rice, Php40 for vegetable and meat with rice and Php8 for extra rice.
Meanwhile, stall owners uphold their rights to petition the price hike and complain on their low income that failed to suffice their daily living.
On the other hand, some students have seen the need of the hike and commended the efforts and service offered by the Nursing Canteen.
The new policy also included that stalls breaking the implemented rule shall be penalized with non-renewal of contract
